Our story
Muna Muse started with a simple frustration: it was easy to find modest clothing that was plain, and easy to find print that was loud but cut like nothing you would wear to work. Almost nothing was both.
So we started sourcing directly: adire from the dye pits, batik stamped by hand, mudcloth and ankara bought by the bolt, and having it cut into shapes that cover properly and still move. Tiered skirts. Bishop sleeves that tie at the elbow. Shirred bodices instead of zips, so one piece fits a range of bodies rather than exactly one.
We are based in New York, and we ship across the United States. We also ship home to Ghana on every run, which is why every price on this site is quoted in dollars and in cedis, not converted at checkout, but set for each market.

We will talk you out of it
If a piece will not work on you, we say so before you pay. That is cheaper for both of us than a return across an ocean.
Small runs, honestly counted
When a listing says low stock, it means low stock. We would rather lose a sale than take money for something we cannot send.
Two prices, both real
Dollars for the US, cedis for Ghana. Neither is a conversion of the other, each is set for its market and quoted up front.
